seems to be affecting users of multiple libsdl-mixer-based apps on
multiple sound cards. I'm getting it with neverball on a newly-installed
debian etch system using the snd-hda-intel alsa driver, and a 2.6.19-rc6
kernel.
The problem is gross sound distortion that can be mitigated somewhat by
turning the app-internal volume controls up to 100%.
One poster claims it's a known regression from earlier versions of sdl,
but I can't find any other documentation of it.
