The conversion of sound files is ment to be unattended, so I suggest an option
to be added to Preferences and enabled by default.
* Set process priority to low (e.g. -19) during conversion
That would greatly enhance the responsibility of whole system while it wouldn't
affect the function/purpose of soundconverter or require the user to
change the priority (renice) by hand every time.

I talked to the upstream developer. A priority lowering option is
not currently on the roadmap, though 2.0 will have an option to
restrict the number of concurrent processes. Changing the "nice"
level ("nice -n19 soundconverter", or renice, or using the GNOME
system monitoring tool) is a generic solution that does not require
changes to a particular program, and is IMHO preferable.
So I'm closing the bug. If you feel strongly about this, please
re-open with justification. Thanks.
