This is just something I think that would be a nice feature (certainly 
to compete with other graphical editors), editors like kwrite and 
possible others have the possibility to 'close' a function like a 
tree, so you can minimize a function to its prototype which is very nice
if you want to keep an overview of all the protoptypes in you current 
text.

There are several Emacs facilities for this.
See hs-minor-mode, allout-mode, outline-mode, foldout-mode etc, and many third 
party libraries.
