After updating to Gnome 3.14, Alt-Tab (and Super-Tab) refuses to switch
between windows; the <Alt> / <Super> key is ignored. Reverting to a
pristine dconf made it work again.
The culprit turned out to be the German "Neo2" keyboard layout. Merely
having that keyboard in the list of input methods (but NOT active!) causes
Alt-Tab to stop working.
This is a somewhat annoying bug (and impossible for normal users to find).
KDE works, and everything was fine on 3.12.

this seems to fix the issue for me:
aptitude install -t unstable libmutter0e mutter
