Package: shntool
Version: 3.0.7-1
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

it'd be great if shntool could suggest: monkeys-audio, which is the
package that gives shntool the ability to split APE files.

I realize this package is not in Debian proper (it's in the
debian-multimedia.org repositories), but Suggests is okay for this
purpose and will allow users quickly finding out the package they need
for APE support.

Thanks for considering!

Suggesting non-Debian package is wrong; D-M repository is strongly deprecated
as it contains packages conflicting with official Debian packages.
Personally I'm uncomfortable with suggesting proprietary package without a
strong reason. It adds little to functionality as converting APE to FLAC is as
easy as

    avconv -i afile.ape afile.flac

Considering the above I'm closing this bug as "wontfix".

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to [email protected],
and the maintainer will reopen the bug report if appropriate.
