Package: inetutils-inetd
Severity: serious
Version: 1.4.2+20040207-3

Hi,

I found that if I installed inetutils-inetd, it wouldn't reload
/etc/inetd.conf by update-inetd.

Scenario:
1. install Sarge.
2. aptitude installs important and standard priority packages silently,
but (by some aptitude bug? I reported as #264716 additional
information) inetutils-inetd goes to install instead of
   netkit-inetd.
3. After then, I install some packages using inetd, such as skksearch.
It is installed correctly, but it couldn't work because inetd isn't
   restarted. (FYI netkit-inetd reloads correctly.)

My opinion:
- 2. is aptitude's bug, but 3. is inetutils-inetd's problem (or
  inetutils-inetd mismatches with netbase).
- If inetutils-inetd haven't full compatibility with netkit-inetd,
could you remove Provides: netkit-inetd? By changing this, maybe
  aptitude won't confuse.

I think this problem and #240576, #207752 are similar.

Thanks,
