Package: chromium
Version: 45.0.2454.85-1~deb8u1
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
after moving ~/.config/chromium to another location (which is an optional
step) then opening chromium, enter a url such as:
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=test&ia=meanings
-or-
https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/welcome.html
the whole application hangs/freezes for about 8 seconds. cpu usage
completely uses one or both cores. then the page loads. if i click on
another tab with a page loaded inisde it, swtiching to that tab may
freeze the application for a few seconds as well.
This occurs somewhat unpredictably, but happens most of the time.
Sometimes loading one of these sites does not hang the program. It
appears that some javascript-free sites do not pose this problem.
I recall chromium being very fast in jessie prior to the security
update. I do not remember when this behavior started.
Thank you for all of your contributions : )
