Package: gs-gpl
Version: 8.54.dfsg.1-5
Severity: normal

gs cannot find any fonts anymore. I suspect it is due to the upgrade
to some font related package or other, but I don't know which one, or when
that happened (after the release of Etch, I'm sure).

If I run gs on a file containing '/Helvetica findfont', I get the following
error message:

GPL Ghostscript 8.54 (2006-05-17)

There is no directory
/usr/share/gs-gpl/8.54/Resource/Font :
/usr/share/gs-gpl/8.54/Resource contains 2 directories, ColorSpace and
Decoding, and a symbolic link:

CMap -> /var/lib/defoma/gs.d/dirs/CMap

but /var/lib/defoma/gs.d/dirs/CMap is an empty directory.

'locate SansUralic' only turns up /var/lib/defoma/fontconfig.d/S/SansUralic.ttf
(and Bold/Italic variants).

I've tried reinstalling gs-gpl, gsfonts, and psfontmgr ,
and dpkg-reconfigure on fontconfig and defoma -- but none of these helped.

Any idea what went wrong?

defoma was last released with Debian 6.0 (squeeze) in
February 2011 and removed from Debian sid/unstable in 2012 (see
http://bugs.debian.org/651494 for details on the removal). Since
support for squeeze and squeeze-LTS has now ended, I'm closing all the
remaining bugs reported against this package.
