PACKAGE: SAMBA 3.5.6

I have a running samba v3.5.6 on debian squeeze fully updated. As of last
week no new packages found. It has been running fine for several months.

I'm getting several messages as follows:

The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action,
was called for PID 15918 (/usr/sbin/smbd).

This means there was a problem with the program, such as a segfault.
Below is a backtrace for this process generated with gdb, which shows
the state of the program at the time the error occurred. The Samba log
files may contain additional information about the problem.

If the problem persists, you are encouraged to first install the
samba-dbg package, which contains the debugging symbols for the Samba
binaries. Then submit the provided information as a bug report to
Debian. For information about the procedure for submitting bug reports,
please see http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting or the reportbug(1)
manual page.

A debugging session is active.

Inferior 1 [process 15918] will be detached.

This morning samba shares could not be reached. All the other networking
functions were running fine. I rebooted the server and samba ran fine.
It is still running tonight but I'm getting the above email (9 so far
today).

This is the only thing I could find in the log.smbd that even looked odd.
Everything else ended with NT_STATUS_OK

I'm very sorry, but we need to close this bug. The version of Samba
this was reported for is long out of support in Debian and upstream,
and there is simply no useful information in the backtrace, as the
samba-dbg package wasn't installed.

Sorry,

Andrew Bartlett
