Chromium renders the body text on vox.com poorly. Vertical strokes in
the 'T' and 'e' characters among others are too thick. Changing the text
zoom size makes everything look fine. Attached is a test case and
screenshot.
In Epiphany and Firefox the font used on the site looks fine.

This was most likely an issue with the version of freetype used by
chromium around version 54/55 (see the upstream discussion). Freetype
has since been updated, so it should no longer be a problem for recent
versions of the package. If it is, please reopen.
