Version: 3.1.1+cvs20050801-6
Severity: normal
Hi!
Jack manpage states (section EXAMPLES):
| When jack is interrupted, call it again using the same command line as
| before to resume work
I tried to issue the following command (with an audio CD in my drive):
$ jack -Q
Jack correctly queried freedb.org, renamed the created directory
in an appropriate way, then began ripping and encoding the CD.
I hit 'Q' to quit.
Then I re-issued the same command:
$ jack -Q
and Jack complained that the directory already esisted and exited.
After many unsuccessful tries, I found out that, in order to resume
an interrupted work, I must change to the created (and renamed) directory
and then re-issue the same command, but without requesting the freedb.org
query!
$ cd ~/jack/Foo/Bar/
$ jack
I think that the manpage is misleading on this topic.
It should be enhanced to explain it more clearly.
Note:
=====
I first experienced this problem on a pure sarge system (with jack 3.1.1-2).
Then I noticed that many Debian BTS bugs (including #293332, which seems
closely related) are reported to be fixed in more recent versions of jack;
consequently I backported jack 3.1.1+cvs20050801-6 from sid to sarge and
retried, but got the same behavior.
