Package: python-pkg-resources
Version: 0.6c9-2
Severity: wishlist

When using python-setuptools, it is possible to get the version
number from within Python easily:

>>> import setuptools
>>> setuptools.__version__
'0.6c9'

The same is not possible when using python-pkg-resources only,
as it does not have a __version__ attribute. To get rid of the
setuptools dependency in Trac, maybe in other packages as well,
this would be useful, however.
