Package: sylpheed
Version: 2.3.0~beta5-1
Severity: wishlist
It is common for one email account to receive email from more than one
address, e.g. using forwarding. Debian uses this system itself. So it's
frustrating when sylpheed allows me to create one account with only one
possible From: address. My debian email is forwarded to my main account
and I need to send From: this address when posting to Debian related
mailing lists. Debian email is forwarded to my own email address.
To post on non-debian mailing lists, I need to send from the original
address.
I've created a dummy account in sylpheed that allows me to change
identity in the Compose window but this is a kludge because sylpheed now
complains that this dummy account cannot be accessed plus it creates
useless folders.
I use IMAP locally and have dozens of sub folders, I do *not* want to
have to create dual IMAP accounts for each of the four or so email
addresses that are all forwarded to my main account.
Please can sylpheed support more than one identity per account?
