Package: courier-imap
Version: 0.31-1
Severity: wishlist

Of course, I expect this might take a while...

However, if the authentication stuff has been rewritten in the latest
alpha version, it might be good idea to ensure it is compatable.

As for if any RFC standard exists for imapd using SASL, I can't answer
that ;-).

Once courier-imap supports SASL, it will automatically support
any authentication method that SASL supports via plugins (eg
Kerberos, GSSAPI, PAM, etc).

I have recently taken over maintenance of the courier packages. I apologize
that this bug report was never responded to. My assumption is that this is no
longer an issue as courier has full SSL support. As such, I am going to close
this bug report. However, if you feel that this is still important, please
feel free to reopen it.
