wget decides the response is in error if there is no line at the end
of the response in which 230 is followed by a space.

Apparently many servers respond this way; but probably it's not kosher
according to the RFC. Here is a typical successful response:

This old bug can be closed, this issue with the ftpd's reply during
login has already been fixed.
