This situation is extremely uncomfortable. If you have multiple disks it will install on the first disk it finds even if it is not the Debian disk. If you try to turn off the disk where Grub was installed without your consent, remove it from your machine, format it to store other data, or if it crashes, you lose the Debian boot loader and Debian no longer works!! This just happened to me after a crash, and frankly, I could have done without it ;-( Please fix this urgently before there are any more victims due to this configuration error on your part.
