This afternoon I noticed that one of my servers was not putting stuff into syslog about having an out of date version of clamav. Upon examination I noticed that my main.cvd file was from november and my daily.cvd file was from Jan 13. I tried doing a restart of freshclam, but it didn't work. A simple kill of the freshclam process also didn't work. I ended up having to kill -9 the process to get it to go away. At that point I simply started freshclam again and things seemed to update properly. I suspect you will probably want to see some information from my logfiles.
