Yes, but remember also that _at the same time_ moc and moc-ffmpeg-plugin have
been updated:

So it's hard to decide whose fault it is!
After all, the Marillat packages work with _all_ the mp3 players
I have got installed on my computers, with the exception of moc.

What I can do is perform the experiment you recommend and file
the result to the Debian BTS.  I (or you) can then write a note
to Christian asking him to have a look at this thread.
