I ran into this today and just thought I'd share my workaround, which actually isn't a workaround at all, but is what I should have done in the first place.
Never, ever use [A-Z], nor [a-z], etc. This particular locale issue is only one of the problems with this approach. Had I done the right thing the first time and used [[:upper:]] and [[:lower:]] then I would have avoided this issue. Always use the named character classes when possible. [A-Z] and [a-z] are lazy hacks and should be avoided. -- Chris Howie http://www.chrishowie.com http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Crazycomputers If you correspond with me on a regular basis, please read this document: http://www.chrishowie.com/email-preferences/ PGP fingerprint: 2B7A B280 8B12 21CC 260A DF65 6FCE 505A CF83 38F5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ IMPORTANT INFORMATION/DISCLAIMER This document should be read only by those persons to whom it is addressed.
