I am the maintainer of the Aegir Debian package, which manages multiple
server and is designed to configure multiple database servers. It
prompts you for the username/password of MySQL servers, and could feed
at least the hostname back into phpMyAdmin.

Ideally, those parameters could be fed directly into a commandline
script that would also populate the phpMyAdmin database on that server,
but I am not looking for that functionality so much.

I think other control panels could use that functionality too.
