In response to the bug comment: "http://bitcoin.org/releases/2012/10/19/v0.7.1.html > This is a minor bug-fix release.
My best guess would be that #688813 (grave) is addressed this new upstream version. What is blocking the new release? As far as I can see bitcoind will not be part of wheezy, so there is no point in waiting. On the other hand just uploading the new release should fix a number of issues. Helmut" I think part of the reason there isn't an updated release is that Debian's Berkley DB library is newer than the stock one from upstream, so wallet.dat made in debian are not compatible with upstream's "stock" precompiled binary, and vice versa. This is dangerousness for users that might expect to just be able to transfer their wallets between machines easily. They are moving away from BDB and towards leveldb, so this may fix itself soon. @Jonas @Micah, if you'd like someone to help work on the package, let me know. ~Scott -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
