No, BerkeleyDB madness is not reason for delay in packaging Bitcoin. Not so much for simply updating to newer upstream source (that is pretty straightforward to do) and also please stick to current packaging style (i.e. CDBS rather than short-form dh). OThers have offered to help as well, so (since I notice you are a DD) a concrete help right now could be to create an Alioth team for Bitcoin to get a mailinglist. Regards, - Jonas
