I don't intend to change the protocol. Upstream made a particularly bad decision in increasing the buffer size without any change to the protocol version, but there's not much we can do about that. Will you stand by your "wontfix" decision if I come up with a patch that tries sending packages using the "new" protocol and falls back to old behavior if that fails? > You are of course free to join pkg-nagios and to take over nrpe.
