This was asked here: http://bugs.debian.org/659974.

The last message from the wavesurfer maintainer
(http://bugs.debian.org/659974#37) explains the problem: wavesurfer
depends on versioned libsnack2. The maintainer suggest to provide an
additional virtual package in libsnack2 and libsnack2-alsa, that can be
included in wavesurfer dependencies.

Is it possible to implement this?

Bests,
        Giulio.
