This was asked here: http://bugs.debian.org/659974. The last message from the wavesurfer maintainer (http://bugs.debian.org/659974#37) explains the problem: wavesurfer depends on versioned libsnack2. The maintainer suggest to provide an additional virtual package in libsnack2 and libsnack2-alsa, that can be included in wavesurfer dependencies. Is it possible to implement this?
