Can we make some progress on this bug? I don't know much about colorimetry and ICC profiles, but I would really like to see this issue solved. I've just glanced over the thread you pointed out. It seems to me that one suggestion is to use compatibleWithAdobeRGB1998.icc or sRGB.icc from the icc-profiles-free package [1].
