Package: update-notifier Version: 0.99.3debian11+perrm2 This transitional package should kill any running update-notifier when it is installed. I was very confused by the fact that one of my testing machines still had it running and the other not, until I realised that it was just a long-running process, and that I had restarted the window manager on the other machine.
