Fixing the source of the problem is IMO much better than just removing packages indiscriminately (moreover no one bothered contacting those maintainers telling them what is going on). But then again, that's my opinion, I don't want to put words in Joerg's mouth that he didn't say. Anyway, I accidentally stumbled on the bug for ecasound and removed that Build-Depends, hence I'll close its bug with my next upload (I went ahead and reassigned/retitled the bug too).
