I'm not running systemd (yet) so I cannot comment on that.

But I'd like to add that the cgroup handling apparently needs some sort
of generic interface, as the various components using it each require
some peculiar setup.
In my case, docker's simple "mount | grep cgroup >/dev/null || mount (...)"
prevented libvirt-bin from later mounting the cgroup hierarchy it needs
to be able to cooperate with LXC (cf. debbug#707201). In other words,
simply installing docker.io broke both libvirt and LXC on the next reboot.
