Package: appstream-index Version: 0.6-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, As per the blog post http://blog.tenstral.net/2014/04/appstream-0-6-1-released-a-quick-look-at-what-you-can-do-with-the-cli-tool.html appstream-index should be also be able to tell if a file (for e.g. a desktop file) . I tried to do the same and it didn't work in real life.
$ appstream-index --get qBittorrent.desktop Unknown option --get Run 'appstream-index --help' to see a full list of available command line options. (appstream-index:15941): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_main_loop_unref: assertion 'loop != NULL' failed I tried the same with apt-file search and that answers the query in few seconds. $ apt-file search qBittorrent.desktop app-install-data: /usr/share/app-install/desktop/qBittorrent.desktop Looking forward to know more. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (600, 'testing'), (500, 'testing-updates'), (1, 'experimental'), (1, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.13-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_IN, LC_CTYPE=en_IN (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages appstream-index depends on: ii libappstream0 0.6-1 ii libc6 2.18-4 ii libglib2.0-0 2.40.0-2 ii libpackagekit-glib2-16 0.8.17-2 ii libsqlite3-0 3.8.4.3-1 ii libxapian22 1.2.17-1 ii libxml2 2.9.1+dfsg1-3 ii packagekit 0.8.17-2 Versions of packages appstream-index recommends: ii app-install-data 2012.06.16.1 appstream-index suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal शिरीष अग्रवाल My quotes in this email licensed under CC 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com 065C 6D79 A68C E7EA 52B3 8D70 950D 53FB 729A 8B17 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
