Hello! I was looking into cairo-dock-plug-ins usage of upower and noticed that it already has code to use both logind and consolekit (in addition to upower).
The preference in the current code seems to be: logind, upower, ck. Building with upower is optional (the other two just uses dbus interfaces and are detected at runtime). As far as I can tell everything should continue to work as always and close this bug report if you just drop the libupower-glib-dev build-dependency.
