pppd doesn't work unless I manually modprobe the ppp_async module. This is easily fixed by adding ppp_async to /etc/modules, but shouldn't this happen automatically? $ sudo wvdial [sudo] password for jch: --> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.61 --> Initializing modem. --> Sending: ATZ ATZ OK --> Modem initialized. --> Sending: ATDT*99# --> Waiting for carrier.
