Source: pinentry-gtk2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

when the pinentry window is in foreground, it is not possible to paste into the
input field from the clipboard, neither by pressing Ctrl-V nor by pressing the
middle mouse button. For me, this is a major drawback, because I frequently use
password managers which let me copy my password to the clipboard so I can paste
it into the respective password input field. Also, when I need to set a
password, I usually let the password manager generate a random password for me,
which is then copied to the clipboard without ever being shown to me (or a
random stranger behind me) at all. So in this scenario I cannot even type the
password by hand, because I simply don't know it ;-)

pinentry-gtk2 and pinentry-qt are until now the first programs I encountered
that (actively?) prevent pasting (pinentry-curses is fine). It would be nice if
this would be possible in the future.

Cheers,
 - Roland
