(I was reminded by the maintainer to send my reply through this address, so I'm sending the same message through here)

Hello,

thank you for the quick answer. I tried the 2.10.2-1 package from your webspace and the problem is still there. I ran hexchat from a terminal window and it just says "Segmentation fault". It doesn't do that right away, though. It does that after displaying the MOTD of the server I try to connect.

And to answer your question whether I tried to migrate from XChat: No, I didn't.

Out of curiosity, I installed XChat trying to reproduce that, and XChat doesn't seem to have that problem for me.

Yours

Waldemar

Hi Waldemar,

I wasn't able to reproduce the issue as you described it.

One common cause for weird behaviour in Hexchat is from people
migrating configurations from XChat. Is this the case for you, and if
so, can you try again with a clean config?

Also, Hexchat 2.10.2-1 is currently in NEW, waiting to be processed
and added to debian. Because this is taking forever, I have the same
packages hosted on my personal webspace here:
http://drubo.net/files/hexchat/debian/

If the clean config recommendation does not apply to you and/or does
not fix the issue, please try with 2.10.2 and let me know how it goes.

Package: hexchat

Dear Maintainer,

After having connected to a server and trying to connect to another server,
using the "/server" command, Hexchat crashes. I've also experienced this
problem on the armhf architecture on a different computer.

I've tried with several servers and had this problem each time.
However, if you connect to the server through the Channel List, all works fine.

Hope you manage to squish this bug.

Yours faithfully

Waldemar
