Source: src:diaspora-installer Version: 0.5.0.1+debian1 Severity: normal diaspora-installer do not inform user why installer is necessary. Usually Debian provides installers only when software is non-free (e.g. not suitable for (re-)distribution etc.) but nowhere in the diaspora-installer package it is explained why disapora needs installer and why it is not a normal Debian package. Users need to be informed what they are downloading and what freedoms there are giving away by using installer. I would put a notice to long package description and/or to README.source.
Besides it might be a good idea to ship an additional vrms reason file to
"/usr/share/vrms/reasons" in order to warn users about non-free software on
their system through `vrms` utility. Such file can contain a one line
explanation like the following:
diaspora-installer: not-for-sale (no commercial exploitation) restriction
If you choose to ship a reason file for vrms then you might want to add `vrms`
to Suggests.
Please let users know what is wrong with disapora. Thank you.
