So it was only the permissions that made it segfault? Hmm. That does not happen here. If I chown root:root the directory, and then try to restart it, I just get an error in the logfile, and it doesn't start - no segfault. I think we have to look elsewhere for the problem. Can you try changing it back to reproduce the segfault, and then run the strace I asked for earlier?
