Quick update: I took Daniel's patch, applied it to 0.6.31-5 and made the necessary changes to debian/control (adding <!stage1>) and could successfully build avahi with the stage1 profile. Would be awesome if these changes could be implemented as it gets us one step closer to a bootstrappable Debian :). Adrian -- .''`.
