This argument implies an *exclusive* or which is definitely not the case. From the very beginning of the Blends effort (before it even was called Blends) it was a goal to make Blends metapackages co-installable. Besides the artificial example that an astronomer might want to install at home also some Debian Jr. tasks it makes perfectly sense to install Debian Science in addition to any science oriented Blend. While I agree that since everything is pure Debian and can be installed on top of any specific Blend image it does not follow the mindset we had agreed upon.
