Package: xmlstarlet Version: 1.6.1-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
If xmlstarlet is complied from source, the output of 'xmlstarlet --version' is something like: 1.6.1 compiled against libxml2 2.9.2, linked with 20903 compiled against libxslt 1.1.28, linked with 10128 However, if installed from the debian package, the first line is an empty string, only including the versions of the libraries linked to, i.e., the "1.6.1" is missing. Scripts that use xmlstarlet might check the installed version for compatibility reasons, so this is important. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.6 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to C.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages xmlstarlet depends on: ii libc6 2.19-18+deb8u6 ii libxml2 2.9.1+dfsg1-5+deb8u4 ii libxslt1.1 1.1.28-2+deb8u2 xmlstarlet recommends no packages. xmlstarlet suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
