Well I opened both a Debian kernel bug report as well as an upstream bug
report about it. The NEWS file already mentions these, mentioning the upstream
bug reports, but it does not mention the Debian kernel bug reports.

Bug#848682: process accounting sometimes does not work

Bug#848683: Process accounting: Using the NETLINK inface, the command
TASKSTATS_CMD_GET returns -EINVAL

I think it may make sense to mention these with links in NEWS file and then say
that everything that could be done within atop and… within atop debian package
has been done and it really needs a fix for the kernel to move forward. Cause
thats how it is, Gerlof added workarounds, the NEWS file explains the
situation, nothing that can be done within Debian atop package anymore I´d
say. I would close the bug report with that upload then.

Only caveat then would be: We wouldn´t have a reminder to check back on the
kernel issue within atop debian package realm anymore.

Thanks,
