Package: git-buildpackage
Version: 0.8.10
Severity: serious

Hi,

I was trying to backport a package with this command, which used to work
as expected for as long as I can remember:

DIST=jessie gbp buildpackage -v0.9-1

...but now gbp exits with the message:

gbp:error: 'BUILDER=pbuilder GIT_PBUILDER_AUTOCONF=no
/usr/bin/git-pbuilder -v0.9-1' failed: it exited with 2

A couples of lines above, I can see:

I: Generating source changes file for original dsc
dpkg-genchanges: error: unknown option ''-v0.9-1''

Is it the extra pair of quotes that confuse dpkg-genchanges ?

The bug may come from some other tool in the chain (maybe pbuilder,
which was recently changed regarding the source package building phase),
but I'm not sure how to debug this.

Regards,
