Request bug closure with probable status of "won't fix". Did not realize what I was *really* asking for was a port of a Javascript JIT compiler, which isn't going to happen for the alpha architecture (nor any of several others represented in the Debian ports archive).
Original reason for filing this bug report is an inappropriate dependency on this package by another. A more appropriately targeted bug report will be sent to the maintainer(s) of that package requesting removal of the dependency on "nodejs". Apologies for the noise. --Bob
