Oh sorry, I'm very beginner. But I discovered nice instructions related
to gdb: how to generate a back-trace [1], [2].
Please send your back-trace. Also try to start Telegram in debug mode
(type `telegram-desktop -debug` in terminal) and get me logs (they can
be found in ~/.local/share/TelegramDesktop/log*.txt and
~/.local/share/TelegramDesktop/DebugLogs/log*.txt files).
Or you can send me a core-dump (you'll find it in
~/.local/share/TelegramDesktop/core, but before this, increase the core
files limit by typing `ulimit -c unlimited`), but be carefully, it may
contain private information if you logged in. But the last point at your
discretion.

Running telegram-desktop 1.0.27 (tdesktop binary release) won't crash. The
only output is:
(Telegram:7331): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: /build/glib2.0-B1uXKV/
glib2.0-2.50.3/./gobject/gsignal.c:2523: signal 'child-added' is invalid for
instance '0x6a15db0' of type 'GtkMenu'
Very interesting. Then I'm not sure that it relates to libappindicator.
