The fact that the xmgrace window does not close, which I describe, is not
due to hidden dialog boxes!
(Also, the xmgrace process -- according to ps -- does terminate, when I try
to close xmgrace via the GUI, just the GUI window refuses to close!)

Indeed, I can confirm that fully upgrading debian stretch to buster solves
this issue!
However, I can reproduce the issue on multiple desktop computers running
pure Debian stretch (with KDE)!
