Package: autofs
Version: 4.1.4-8
Severity: minor

Hi,
A smart user took way too much time to setup autofs for two reasons:
1) /etc/auto.master is misleading. The examples should include
/var/autofs/ like this:

/var/autofs/removable /etc/auto.removable --timeout=2

Otherwise it is easy to assume that we are talking about /var/autofs as
the root (since the directories corresponding to 'net' and 'misc'
already exist there), when in fact that is not the case at all.

2) The example auto.misc or auto.master files should refer to mount(8)
to find mount options suitable for your particular filesystem to be used
with -fstype. Also, suggest fmask and dmask as a starting point since
almost everyone wants to control the permissions of the automounted
device, and these are not familiar mount options to an inexperienced
user.

Thanks!
