This is not going to be a paid project, unfortunately, as I hoped.
Also, we had an IRC conversation on #debian-devel about pam_systemd and the dbus user service. I think it contains a lot of useful information particularly from smcv. See below. Thanks for the transcript.I'll have this on my radar as an RC-like bug on the MATE side and take a look later in October / November (when back from VAC). If noone else has addressed it by then.
