This is, however, only a workaround. Judging from the analysis from #897251 this results from the program trying to write to /usr/local/share/fonts. I am not convinced that a packaged program is supposed to write to /usr during normal operations. Removing the directory in question is an option only if the directory is not needed by the local admin.
