without some logging it's almost impossible to see what's going on and were to possible fix. Please try this to see what TB is doing. $ NSPR_LOG_MODULES=IMAP:5,SMTP:5 LANG= thunderbird Before sending have a look into this log for possible sensible data. Also please disable all AddOns before testing as there are a lot of old extension out there which can make some trouble like xul-ext-gnome-keyring e.g. -- Regards Carsten Schoenert
