Hi Carsten, we disable all AddOns and try to log with

 $ export MOZ_LOG=MsgCompose:5,SMTP:5,timestamp
 $ thunderbird

but nothing is logged. When we push the send button we had this
Send Message Error:

Sending of the message failed.
You specified that this message should be digitally signed, but the 
application either failed to find the signing certificate specified in your 
Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings, or the certificate has expired.

even if a valid self signed certificate is selected in Account Settings - 
Security - Digital Signing and Encryption.
