Package: matlab2tikz
Version: 1.1.0-6
Severity: wishlist

Indeed, Sébastien's comment below is correct. When I adjusted the file d/matlab2tikz.links, in order to fix Bug#919100, I have not realized that an attempt to fix the path issues was done with the patch d/p/path-issues.patch. We may need to adjust this later file to the new situation.

I am hereby opening a new bug report, tagged wishlist, just to help us not forgetting the issue.

Best,

Rafael

Indeed the addpath is there, but just before the addpath there is a call to checkDeprecatedEnvironment(). This function is internal to the matlab2tikz.m file, but it calls getEnvironment() which is external, so that won't work before the addpath.

Bug #919100 in matlab2tikz reported by you has been fixed in the Git repository and is awaiting an upload. You can see the commit message below and you can check the diff of the fix at:

d/matlab2tikz.links: Fix link to the source directory

Closes: #919100
------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm surprised that changing the symlink was necessary. There is
actually a patch that precisely adds the whole /usr/share/matlab2tikz
directory to the path:

https://salsa.debian.org/pkg-octave-team/matlab2tikz/blob/master/debian/patches/path-issues.patch

I think more investigation is needed here. Or at the very least the
patch should be updated in order to match the new setup.
