Hi!

Sadly, one cannot simply update a package in Stretch (the current stable
version) that easily. What makes Debian Stable is that packages aren't
updated but for security reasons.

I do not think this is a security issue. This package should be migrated
to testing in about 2 days. You can then install it from there.
